My husband and I have December and January birthdays so we decided a long time ago to not get holiday gifts for each other. In recent years we also opted out of birthday gifts. It’s really nice. For the holidays, we give friends consumables that we have made (often from our garden produce): jelly, pickled veggies, smoked salmon, mulled wine.
Great list! I sewed pencil cases/coin purses out of thrifted silk ties, placemats, and fabric scraps last Christmas :) they were pretty and practical and people loved them!

I love the idea of a handmade Christmas! My husband and I did that last year…I made bath melts for our moms and sisters and crocheted toys for the littles, and he and our boys made wooden swords and catapults for the older cousins. It was a big hit and we all had so much fun.
As an aside , I learned in a repair workshop the felting tool is a miracle way to repair holes in wool sweaters or scarves, it's just punch darning, super easy.
This is done with the punch tool not the needles. Perfect way to darn moth holes. I was blown away when I was shown this. What is surprising is a couldn't find any YouTube demonstrating this with the punch tool , with springs, it's all with needles. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Zav6cz1m_F8

Sew a pouch of flannel. Fill with white rice. It’s a microwaveable heat pack for sore muscles!! I use it a lot in winter.

I made these for everyone in my family last year! Tip: make them with a tightly woven muslin, then sew a flannel pillowcase that can be washed.
That’s a much better idea. Mine is getting a bit soiled.

I am not currently working on any crochet projects but I am about to start a couple - a scarf and a sweater. Not Christmas related though.
I took an online Christmas arts and crafts class so I will probably make these cute felt Christmas lights we learned. 🥰
I'm definitely gonna give the magnets with frames a try, as well as bookmarks with my own lino carvings and hand picked dried flowers
Gloom at shopping for Christmas gifts, begone! I can't wait to hit the thrift store and look around my house to see what I can make for those I love!
